Basic Led Light with Arduino

OVERVIEW

This was my very first electronics project using an Arduino UNO R3, a breadboard, jumper wires, an LED, and a resistor. The goal was straightforward — design a circuit that would turn on a single LED, then bring that design to life hands-on. Before touching any physical components, I built the circuit digitally in TinkerCAD first. This let me plan out exactly how everything would connect, where the resistor would sit to protect the LED from too much current, and how the wires would run from the Arduino to the breadboard. Having that visual blueprint made the physical build much easier and far less intimidating.

About the project

Goal

Once the TinkerCAD design was solid, I recreated the circuit in real life using the same layout. With the components in place, I moved on to writing the code in the Arduino IDE — sending a signal to the pin connected to the LED to turn it on. The moment it actually lit up was a big deal. It meant the circuit was wired correctly, the resistor was doing its job, and the code was talking to the hardware the way it was supposed to.

For a first project, this covered everything that matters — learning to plan a design before building it, understanding how basic components work together, and testing out my coding skills in a hands-on way. It was a small build, but it laid down a real foundation for everything that comes next.
